Founder, climber, route developer
I’m Siddhartha.
I live and climb in Kumaon.
I live and work out of a village in Almora. RockTrailSleep is how I share the rocks, trails and relationships that have made Kumaon home.
01 The beginning
It started with
taking friends to climb.
I’m a local route developer first, a climber second, and a writer somewhere in between. I have been climbing and travelling through Kumaon for over a decade, and developing climbing around Almora since 2020.
I know the ancient gneiss boulders in the pine forests, the old footpaths, the roads to avoid in bad weather and the ridgelines most people drive straight past.
RockTrailSleep exists because Kumaon is worth doing slowly. There is a version of this place that takes time to find, and that is the version I want to show you.
02 The practice
“On the wall, there isn’t much to hide behind. Fear, hesitation and commitment all show up clearly.”
Climbing has been a deep pursuit for me—one that has gradually taken on the quality of a spiritual practice. Not in a formal sense, but in the way it demands presence, honesty and attention.
Visualization has been central to that journey. I use it to work through movement, fear and mental blocks, and it naturally becomes part of how I share climbing with other people.
When I guide, I am not trying to make every person climb in the same way. I want to help you pay closer attention, make better decisions and leave with more trust in your own movement.
